Fully-funded start up course launches in North Powys.
TownSq’s Speed Networking session at the recent Newtown Expo
We’re excited to be teaming up with Ponthafren to host a fully-funded business support programme aimed at hopeful entrepreneurs across Powys.
We’ll be delivering our tried and tested Startup Club course over two days so that budding business owners in the area have the foundations they need to launch their idea without feeling in the dark about topics like finance, legals and marketing, which will prove essential to running a successful enterprise.
We’ve worked with hundreds of people looking to start up a new business venture who are masters of their craft and exceedingly confident in the product or service they are proposing to provide. However, what doesn’t come naturally to a new entrepreneur is the expertise in other areas of running a business, from web design to generating sales, which Startup Club seeks to provide through a programme of sessions led by industry leaders.
Ponthafren is a mental health and wellbeing charity which aims to foster a supportive community where local people can thrive. The programme aims to empower local people with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently follow their ambition to start up and become their own boss.
The programme will be taking place at Ponthafren in Newtown on the 11th and 12th September between 9:30 and 15:30. The project has been fully-funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund so attendance is completely free of charge.
Kevin Mansell-Abell, Commercial Director at TownSq, at a recent expo in Powys
Our Commercial Director Kevin Mansell-Abell said: “It’s fantastic to be joining forces with Ponthafren, an organisation we highly respect, to deliver value to prospective startup founders in North Powys. Many of the inspiring, successful business owners we have worked with over the years have been people who initially didn’t see themselves as a typical entrepreneur or even have the belief that they could start a business venture from nothing.
“Startup Club has proven time and again that there are no prizes for going it alone and struggling through the entrepreneurship journey without asking for help. The very best business owners are aware of their strengths and weaknesses and aren’t afraid to use the knowledge and expertise of others who have done it all before, to ask for help and make their enterprise even stronger.
“If you’re considering starting a business in Powys and aren’t quite ready to dive in head first, then Startup Club could be the perfect first step to help you explore your ideas and lay the groundwork for the future without making any serious commitments. We’d invite anyone in the area with an interest in business to take that step by signing up for a free ticket and letting us do the rest.”
